Bindery Operator
Experienced Bindery Operator. Set up, adjust and operate all relevant bindery equipment such as: folders with continuous feeders; saddle stitching; perfect binding; cutting and sheet laminating to produce quality finished products that meet customer specifications and quality standards.
Essential Duties:
- Sets up and operates the bindery and finishing equipment according to requirements, while ensuring maximum productivity and quality.
- Works safely, adhering to all Company policies.
- Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications.
- Make machine(s) ready, set up assigned machines to specifications and run products as required
- Troubleshoot machine problems, resolve when possible.
- Maintain proper machine maintenance and lubrication
- Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping floors swept and absent of debris that may be a work hazard
- Strong Team Player
- Must be dependable and have a good work ethic
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Job Requirements and Skills Required
- Specific knowledge of bindery equipment gained either through formal study or job experience.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong team player.
- Strong organizational abilities.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand job ticket proofs and all other job related paperwork.
- Good decision making skills and willing to assume responsibility for the work produced.
- Must be dependable and have a solid work ethic
Schedule/Shift:
This is a full-time position. M-F 8:00 – 4:30, OT as needed

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
